Alisha has an undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University in psychology and a master’s degree from Tennessee State University in counseling psychology. She is EMDR Level I and II trained, trained in Somatic Experiencing, and DBT Skills trained. Her background in the field includes work as a forensic interviewer for Children’s Advocacy Centers, consumer advocate for Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and crisis counselor for Mobile Crisis and Emergency Psychiatric Services in both Tennessee and Virginia. Alisha has an eclectic approach to therapy with an emphasis on solution-focused and experiential therapies. She believes that the therapeutic approach should be based on each person’s individual needs.
