Tennessee addiction recovery testimonials

Below are firsthand accounts from people whose lives were shaped by the land, routines, and supportive community at The Ranch Tennessee.

“As a psychotherapist I have encouraged several clients to go here. Inpatient is HARD to accept, but going to a hospital inpatient isn’t always what my clients needed. They needed rest, a chance to slow down, and space to process in nature—not a white-walled room. Each of my clients who followed through came back with a 180-degree difference. They returned with tools, emotional regulation, and clarity. I am thankful for the expertise of every staff member I’ve encountered. It gave us the boost we needed to continue important work on self-growth.”
“The Ranch gave me so much awareness of who I am and what I was dealing with. The knowledge I gained about my addiction and mental health has proven invaluable. I owe my current happiness to The Ranch and all the staff. Mr. Thomas Hooker walked me through the process and made everything more comfortable. Without him, I’m not sure where I’d be right now.”
“Great experience at The Ranch. Counselors and staff genuinely cared and are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.”
“The staff at The Ranch are the most caring and compassionate people. From RAs to medical and therapy providers, they are invested in your care. I highly recommend this residential facility to anyone needing help with addiction, eating disorders, or mental health issues.”
“I sent a client to The Ranch who had multiple treatment episodes. The trauma work was the best I’ve seen. He was happier with the care he received than in any previous program. Their family program was phenomenal. Thank you for the professional work you’ve done.”
“Excellent place to come for care. Gorgeous facility with a home-like feeling.”
“Staff was attentive to all my needs. Trauma therapy was thorough, and the counselors and doctors listened and made adjustments when needed.”
“There are no words to fully describe my time at The Ranch. I believe this place is sacred. The Ranch gave me my life back and more. I will forever be grateful.”
“The Ranch changed my life for the better. I needed to find my true self, and the staff could not have been more supportive. The therapy and adventure work opened my eyes to so much more. Very grateful.”
“I went to The Ranch over a year ago. That was the turning point from feeling depressed, lost, and hopeless. I spent three months there. The therapists and the community helped me build the foundation for the life I live now. I wake up every day feeling grateful and happier than I ever imagined.”
“I am so grateful I had the chance to go to The Ranch. It was life changing. The staff truly cared about me as a person and helped me learn how to be the best and happiest version of myself.”
“This is a very well-run facility, organized down to transportation. Days were packed with groups, individual work, and intensives. Equine and adventure therapy were integrated and impactful. Staff were respectful and caring, and the physicians were knowledgeable. Discharge planning and aftercare were excellent. I can’t say enough about this place.”
“The Ranch changed my life forever, and for the better. I chose to go. I thought I would do my time and leave ‘cured,’ but instead it became the start of a long journey inward. The education on addiction and intimacy disorders was incredible. The people—staff and clients—were life changing. I learned how to connect with others and how to hold space for people. It is a place of safety and learning. It isn’t easy, and it’s worth it.”

Medical Director

Dr. Fuller is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and residency at Vanderbilt University. Additionally, he has completed the Nashville Advance Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program, a two-year intensive program to better integrate traditional psychotherapy into his psychiatric practice. Dr. Fuller began his post-residency career in psychiatry running a psychotherapy-oriented private practice. Looking to help more people than he could working alone yet still provide treatment that emphasizes the importance and value of talk therapy, he joined The Ranch in 2017.

Dr. Fuller is passionate about helping people who have survived trauma and/or are struggling with addiction and strongly believes that the life we all deserve is within reach, no matter the adversity that one must overcome. He views medications as tools rather than solutions and his prescribing philosophy is to use the lowest dose necessary of non-addictive medications to help aid the process of recovery.
