Outpatient Drug Rehab & Treatment
The Ranch outpatient rehab helps you stand strong in recovery. Transitioning into outpatient treatment after inpatient rehab provides structure and support that’s especially important during early recovery. Our outpatient rehab programs are also suited for people who don’t require a higher level of care like residential treatment.
What Is Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Like?
The Ranch Mississippi offers two types of outpatient programs. We have a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Some clients move consecutively through all three levels of care offered: inpatient drug rehab, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, while others participate in one level of care. Our recovery advisors can help you decide which level of care is appropriate for you: 844-876-7680
The Ranch’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The Ranch’s partial hospitalization program is an outpatient rehab located in Brandon, Mississippi. You’ll attend drug and alcohol rehab five days a week from 9 am to 4 pm. Day treatment is full of structured activities. You’re encouraged to attend 12-step meetings and participate in sober activities on the weekends and evenings. You can choose to live on campus (additional fee), at home or in a sober-living facility. If you live on campus, you may participate in some of our inpatient drug rehab activities during the evenings and weekends.
Outpatient drug treatment is a good step-down option from our inpatient program and may include:
- Individual therapy
- Process groups
- Adventure therapies
- Expressive therapies
- Relapse prevention training
- Medication management
- Psychiatric care
- Family therapy (onsite at our treatment centers or via phone)
- Self-help support groups
- Job-seeking help
- Budget-management skills
- Continuing care planning
You may attend medical drug detox and alcohol detox at The Ranch MS prior to admission into the partial hospitalization program if needed.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Our intensive outpatient program is located in Flowood, MS and meets in the evenings, three hours a day, three days a week. This way you can work or attend school but still maintain a strong foothold in treatment. You’ll get help for challenges you’re facing, and develop essential relapse prevention and coping skills.
The Ranch’s intensive outpatient program encourages independence and is ideal for people building confidence in recovery.
Activities may include:
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy
- Relapse-prevention and sober-living skills
- Psychiatry/medication management follow-up
- Budget management skills
- Help building a resume and filling out school applications
- Drug screenings
- Recreational therapy
Medical alcohol detox and drug detox can be arranged prior to entering our intensive outpatient programs (IOP).
Highlights of Our Outpatient Programs
Our Mississippi partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program help you stand strong in sobriety with support from addiction professionals and peers in recovery. You’ll address triggers and roadblocks to recovery in a safe place and learn new ways to cope with life’s challenges, underlying emotional pain and co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety.
Deeper Understanding of Addiction
An important part of drug and alcohol rehab treatment is learning about your illness so you can better manage it. You’ll receive ongoing education on addiction and mental health issues at The Ranch drug rehab center. Learning about the disease of addiction can help you understand your condition better. This knowledge helps you build tools that tackle alcohol and drug addiction from all angles. You’ll hear from recovery center staff who are experts in substance use disorders and behavioral health issues.
Some of the topics we may cover include:
- Why alcohol and drug addiction is a disease of the brain.
- How behavioral health issues contribute to drug or alcohol abuse.
- Why attention to co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety is critical to addiction recovery.
- How to repair the damage drug or alcohol abuse has caused to your physical and behavioral health.
Relapse Prevention Training
A core part of our outpatient addiction rehab is helping you identify triggers and how to cope without drugs or alcohol. Groups regularly focus on this addiction recovery topic. You’ll learn about warning signs of relapse and practice using healthy coping skills to replace drug and alcohol abuse.
You’ll also learn about the importance of managing co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety. Mental health symptoms can sometimes lead people to try to self-medicate with alcohol and drugs. If you have a dual diagnosis of a substance use disorder and mental illness, regular psychiatric care is important. Paying attention to your mental well-being is a critical relapse prevention measure.
Group and Individual Therapy
You’ll benefit from both one-on-one counseling with an individual therapist as well as group therapy with a supportive community of peers in outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. Individual therapy gives you an opportunity to expand on issues you’ve brought to the group. You’ll check in about your recovery goals and develop a close therapeutic relationship.
Group therapy at The Ranch provides valuable peer support. Group members hold you accountable in recovery and you’ll do the same for them. You’ll hone your interpersonal skills and gain new insights into yourself and how you relate to others.
Recreational / Adventure Therapy
The Ranch offers substance abuse treatment options that help you get out of your head and re-land in your body. You’ll engage in recreational activities with our recreation therapist and learn how it relates to addiction recovery. Activities might include adventure therapy such as a ropes course and other outdoor activities. These approaches help you reconnect the mind, body and spirit. You’ll explore your experiences in post-activity process groups.
The types of recreational activities and frequency depend on whether you’re in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP).
Accountability in Addiction Recovery
While we don’t micromanage your recovery, we do provide services that help you help yourself.
Examples of ways we foster accountability:
- You may be asked to provide check stubs to make sure you’re on target at your job.
- Random drug screenings are part of our PHP and outpatient drug rehab program.
- The Ranch staff are in regular contact with your sponsor or sober-living housing team to make sure our efforts all align and you’re getting the best support possible.
As you continue to show progress in outpatient addiction treatment, we’ll encourage you to become more and more independent.
Examples of increasing independence:
- If you’re in The Ranch PHP, you’ll transition into our intensive outpatient program (IOP).
- If you’re in our IOP, you may start coming to group only twice a week and attend a 12-step meeting or aftercare group the other night.
- Eventually you’ll completely transition into our aftercare group, which is a free, weekly group run by The Ranch Mississippi alumni that you can attend for as long as you desire.
Connections to Addiction Recovery Resources
The goal of our outpatient alcohol rehab and drug rehab is to provide you the skills and confidence you need for lifelong sobriety. We want you to leave drug and alcohol abuse behind for a life that is fulfilling and enjoyable. You’ll learn about resources that can help you stay sober long after residential treatment and outpatient rehab.
